About Gary Hughes
I grew up just North of Yakima, Washington. All 13 years of schooling was in the Naches Valley School District.
I joined the Air Force right out of high school and my first major purchase was a new 35mm camera. I've been taking pictures ever since. The Air Force has allowed me to live and travel all over the world. My pictures reflect that.
Once I received my scuba certification in 2000 a whole new aspect of my art was opened up to me. Thanks to digital photography, I've been able to afford the equipment.
Many of my photos can stand on their own but I found that some just didn't quite cut it. But when I transformed them into watercolors and mosaics they took on a whole new life.
I'm just starting out on all of this so I have a long way to go. My scanner allows me to add my old 35mm stuff from The States and Europe.
I hope you enjoy my art as much as I did creating it. Some are many years in the making.
